Adventure Charters

Adventure charters are multi-day trips just for you and your family or friends, on a sailboat with a licensed captain, to the islands off the coast of Southern California.

Newport Beach Sailing Charters offers eco-travelers (a.k.a. “green adventurers”) the ability to combine a passion for sailing with other forms of adventure. Pack your gear for sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking - all in one trip! Our sailboats will serve as your toy, transportation and home for your adventure charter.

Our skilled captains will take you to the rugged side of Catalina Island and on further to experience the pristine beauty of the Channel Islands, off the coast of Southern California. Catalina Island is well known for the main town of Avalon and smaller Two Harbors, but few people travel to the coves and backside of the island, such as Shark Harbor. There are 16 rugged coves to choose from where you can explore and anchor for the day or overnight.

The Channel Islands consist of Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel and Santa Barbara Islands. They are accessible only by boat and few people get the opportunity to visit this isolated National Park. The sparse visitation is what helps to maintain the untouched environment of the islands. According to the National Park Service, “a visit to this national park will always provide a marked contrast to the bustle of Southern California most people experience. It will always be a place where you can step back in time and experience coastal Southern California the way it once was.”

Sample Itineraries

Newport Beach Sailing Charters offers three multi-day adventure trips: 2,4, and 6 day trips. Dependent on the season, sea and weather conditions, each trip includes some combination of snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, hiking, dolphin and whale watching, bird watching, surfing, swimming, and cave exploration.
