A captained charter with Newport Beach Sailing Charters is a half day, full day, or sunset sail, accompanied by a skilled and friendly captain. Just sit back and enjoy the sights or sail the boat yourself, with a captain on the sideline - the choice is yours. Either way, you will sail aboard one of our new Hunter sailboats, all of which boast a spacious cockpit outfitted with cushions for you and your guests to spread out and relax. You will also appreciate the dodger and bimini combination (an overhead canvas canopy), which provides a gentle shield from the sun and wind.

While sailing, you will most likely plan to enjoy refreshments and beverages on board. You can be assured that you will have the necessary amenities and space to serve your guests. All of our boats have a galley complete with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and sink, as well as pots, pans, silverware, and dishes.

Last but not least, the “creature comforts” of a boat are what enhance an already terrific experience. All of our boats are outfitted with a private head (toilet) and vanity sink. Our heads are electric and filled with fresh water, which eliminates the need to pump the toilet and minimizes any odors.

Simply stated, our boats are amongst the best Newport Harbor has to offer. You and your guests will be comfortable!

Below are three sample itineraries, for half day, full day, and sunset sail charters. All itineraries can be arranged with your input, if you so desire! Take a look!

12:20pm Depart the slip and imagine the beautiful day ahead of you. Enjoy lunch on board while you cruise past the waterfront homes of Newport Harbor.
12:30pm The captain gives you the option to sit back and relax or help sail the boat - the choice is yours. If you choose to sail, the captain will give you the signal to hoist - or rather, unfurl the sails. (Our sails are roller furling and effortlessly roll out of the mast.) Next, we unfurl the jib with a quick pull of the jib sheet. Now we are sailing! The captain will allow you to take the helm at this point as he trims the sails.
12:45pm Quickly, you feel the breeze as it fills the sails and accelerates the speed of the boat, using only the power of the wind. You realize now why you love sailing: no engine noise, no gasoline fumes - just the quiet whisper of the boat moving through the water. You know at this point that you are creating memories you and your guests will not soon forget.
1:00pm As you sail out of the harbor, you pass a colony of sea lions playing near the Newport Bell Buoy; out further, dolphins swim at the bow of your boat surfing the bow wave. Enjoy the sail, the scenery and the fresh air as you cruise along the beautiful coastlines of Newport and Laguna Beach.
1:45pm Where do you want to sail? Your captain will provide suggestions. You may decide to anchor in a secluded cove below the majestic cliffs of Laguna Beach. Swim, snorkel, go to shore, hike, explore! (or read and take a nap!)
